Painting and Prosecco
An evening of creative liberation!
Ever wondered if you have a hidden artistic talent? You do! And in just a couple of hours, Emily will guide you in building confidence and creating a piece of art you’ll be proud of.
Many of us lose faith in our creativity due to past experiences, but sometimes all we need is a little encouragement to believe in ourselves again. This is your chance to explore your artistic side while also supporting Hope English School! We are currently fundraising for our classes specifically for Deaf refugees.
What to Expect:
Unleash your creativity – glass of prosecco in one hand, paint brush in the other. No experience? No problem! Whether you are looking for a fun night out or are a budding artist, you'll enjoy creating your own masterpiece.
what you need to know:
When: Tuesday 20th May at 7pm
Where: Plimsoll Building, Whitely Woods Outdoor Activity Centre, Common Lane, Sheffield S11 7TG.
How much: We suggest a minimum donation of £30 per person to cover all art materials and a glass of bubbly! If you are able to donate more, it will mean we raise more for Hope English School. Similarly, please don’t let cost be a barrier, this is an inclusive event and we would love for all to join us, so please give what you can.
Come join us for an uplifting, creative experience—all while raising funds for a great cause! Spaces are limited so book now to secure your place at this great event!
Emily is a professional artist, podcast co-host (of the fun and creative 50 Words for Snow), and author of two books (Hitchhiking with Drunken Nuns and The Quiet Woman). Her journey is a testament to the power of creativity—not just in her own life, but in the lives of those she inspires.
With over a decade of experience teaching one-on-one art classes in her home studio, Emily has also worked as a primary school art teacher and travelled across the USA delivering private art lessons.
This country is full of paintings hanging proudly on the walls of those who Emily has supported in their creativity. These people now know that they are capable of achieving anything if they are given the right tools.
Emily’s Creative Philosophy:
✨ Everyone is an artist
✨ Mistakes lead to new possibilities
✨ Hard work (not magic) brings results
✨ Shortcuts can be celebrated
✨ Creative play is essential to being human
What is Hope English School?
Hope English School is a is a Sheffield based charity specialising in the provision of ESOL classes and digital skills training to asylum seekers, refugees and vulnerable adults.
Learning English and gaining access to education is one of the biggest challenges new arrivals face. Very little is provided by the government and college courses are over subscribed and often difficult to access. We want to make education as accessible as possible to as many people as possible. We believe that gender, finances, legal status, mobility or childcare should not be a barrier to anyone accessing the learning they need. Learning English and gaining digital skills is ESSENTIAL to making a home here.
We believe that there is a future and a hope for the people we work with and that language plays a key role in providing them with opportunities and helping them to integrate.
